Mission, Vision, History

Our mission is to Inspire people to live more thoughtful, spiritual, and impactful lives through learning and sharing timeless Jewish wisdom.

OUR

Aish’s vision for the next 10 years is to create a culture of Jewish learning, with three million Jews around the globe learning, incorporating, and sharing timeless Jewish wisdom and values.

History

In 1974, after meeting five backpackers at the Western Wall, Rav Noach Weinberg founded Aish HaTorah (The Fire of Torah), a Jewish education center in the Old City of Jerusalem. His goal was simple, but bold: train students to take responsibility to inspire the Jewish people and change the world. Within a few years, these very students went around the world opening Aish branches and campus centers across North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and Africa, as well as innovative programs such as Aish.com, Discovery Seminars, Hasbara Fellowships, and Project Inspire. While the teachings of Rav Noach still reverberate through the walls of the Aish World Center in Jerusalem, today, Aish represents an expansive movement that reaches one million people annually and carries forward the legacy of sharing the eternal wisdom of the Torah with Jews around the world.
