Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Director of Communications to lead and oversee all aspects of the Communication Department’s digital media, content strategy and messaging as well as the overall organization’s communications and public relations. This individual will manage the Communications Department ensuring alignment across social media, PR, production, and other key communications channels. They will work closely with senior leadership to craft and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that enhances Aish’s visibility and impact worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and execute the organization’s overarching communications strategy across all channels, including PR, digital media, and content production.
- Develop and provide strategic communications services on behalf of the Global Spokesperson, CEO, and Chief Rabbi (key leadership personnel).
- Manage and oversee the Public Relations team, ensuring strong media relations, press coverage, and strategic messaging.
- Supervise the Production team to ensure high-quality content creation across video, podcasting, and live events.
- Direct and oversee digital comms team and social media strategy across platforms for the org handles and key leadership personnel handles, ensuring engagement, growth, and brand consistency.
- Create opportunities and initiatives to elevate the organization and its key leadership personnel.
- Develop and implement messaging strategies that position Aish and its leadership on the global stage.
- Write, review and/or edit communication materials, including press releases, speeches, reports, digital content, social media posts, and talking points.
- Oversee the creation and dissemination of internal and external newsletters, annual reports, and thought leadership pieces.
- Manage and optimize the organization’s communications budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Lead crisis communication strategies and rapid-response efforts as needed.
- Track analytics and audience engagement to refine communication strategies and provide monthly and quarterly reports to executive leadership.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Media, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, media relations, or public affairs, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic impact.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, compelling narratives.
- Strong understanding of public relations, digital media, and content production.
- Experience managing teams and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively with leadership, media professionals, and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of the political, cultural, and religious landscape as it relates to Jewish and Israel-related issues.
- High level of proficiency in social media management and digital strategy.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Hebrew highly desirable.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, Fridays, and Chol Hamoed, as necessary.
- Process oriented, creative thinker with a strategic mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
- Expert in managing multiple high profile, highly sensitive projects at the same time.
