PR Manager AISH
Position Overview
The PR Manager will be, among other things, the storyteller of the organization. This person will assist the Director of PR and Communications in furthering AISH’s public relations storytelling, finding the stories and crafting them for external media outlets as well as internal uses. They will assist with developing strategy and enhancing organizational visibility and reputation across international, Jewish, and Israeli media. This role will craft compelling narratives about AISH’s mission, secure meaningful media coverage, assist in strategic communications management, and help coordinate high-profile events that attract VIPs, press attention, and influential stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations and Content Development
- Develop and distribute press releases, op-eds, stories, and media statements that effectively communicate AISH’s mission and activities,
- Cultivate relationships with journalists, editors, and journalists and media outlets in Israel and internationally
- Create a cohesive narrative framework that articulates AISH’s unique story, values, and impact
- Pitch compelling story ideas to relevant media outlets to generate positive coverage
Strategic Communications
- Design and implement comprehensive PR strategies that enhance AISH’s standing in the media landscape
- Identify and capitalize on PR opportunities aligned with current events and trending topics
- Position AISH as a thought leader in relevant fields through strategic media placements
- Monitor media coverage and adjust strategies to optimize organizational messaging
- Assist in internal communications strategy and implementation
Stakeholder Engagement
- Create engagement strategies that make AISH an attractive destination for key influencers
- Develop materials that effectively communicate AISH’s value proposition to various stakeholder groups
- Assist in creating meaningful reports for stakeholders
Event Planning and Coordination
- Assist in the organization of press conferences, media tours, and special events that showcase AISH’s work
- Coordinate VIP visits and media attendance at AISH functions and programs
- Provide PR support for AISH-related events, ensuring consistent messaging and maximum positive exposure
- Create media kits and briefing materials for events that facilitate accurate and favorable coverage
- Assist in securing speaking engagements, panel moderator opportunities, scholar in residence bookings, and invites to VIP events
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 1+ year of progressive experience in public relations
- Demonstrated success in securing positive media coverage for organizations or clients
- Experience working with Israeli and international media outlets
- Knowledge of Jewish community organizations and related issues highly desirable
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; Hebrew proficiency strongly preferred
- Proven ability to craft compelling story narratives and persuasive content
- Strong media relations skills with established press contacts
- Strategic thinking and the ability to identify and capitalize on PR opportunities
- Event planning and coordination experience
- Crisis communication capabilities
- Proficiency with media monitoring tools and AI tools
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Understanding of digital media and social platforms as they relate to PR
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness of issues relevant to AISH’s mission

Working Conditions
- Based at AISH headquarters with some flexibility for partial remote work
- Some evening and weekend hours are required for events and time-sensitive media opportunities
