Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Manager to oversee the production of our podcasts and broadcast media projects. This is an all-in-one role whose primary focus is to run the day-to-day operations at the Aish studio. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with all technical aspects of production while ensuring that all phases – from pre-production planning to final delivery and distribution – run smoothly. This role requires a creative thinker with exceptional producer skills, technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and a talent for building relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Operations & Technical Management
- Manage all technical aspects of running the Aish Studio, including camera setup and operation, video switching, lighting configuration, and audio engineering.
- Maintain and troubleshoot studio equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Configure and optimize studio setup for different production needs.
- Handle on-location filming and equipment setup as needed.
Production Management
- Oversee all stages of podcast and broadcast production, including pre-production, recording, editing, and distribution.
- Manage production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with creative teams to develop compelling content ideas and formats.
- Maintain equipment and studio readiness
Producer Duties
- Lead content planning sessions and manage storyboarding processes.
- Supervise the creation of scripts, show outlines, research packets and other production documents.
- Manage recording sessions, providing creative and editorial guidance to hosts and guests.
- Maintain quality control standards for audio and video content.
Post-Production & Editing
- Edit pillar content (full podcast episodes) using professional editing software.
- Create and edit shorter vertical clips for social media platforms.
- Mix and master audio for optimal quality across distribution channels.
- Apply color correction and visual effects as needed for video content.
- Upload and manage content across various YouTube channels and platforms.
Guest Bookings
- Identify and secure high-profile and relevant guests for podcasts and broadcast programs.
- Build and maintain relationships with talent, publicists, and agencies.
- Handle guest logistics, including scheduling, contracts, and travel arrangements.
- Act as the primary liaison for guests, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
Content Distribution:
- Uploading pillar content (full podcast episodes) to podcast platforms with optimized metadata and descriptions.
- Disseminating micro-content and promotional assets (short clips, audiograms, teaser trailers) across social media platforms.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and schedules for episodes/projects.
- Monitoring analytics on podcast platforms and social media to track performance and engagement.
Administrative and Operational Support
- Track budgets and expenses for productions.
- Maintain accurate records of production timelines and deliverables.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership.
- Implement workflows and tools to improve production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in podcast or broadcast production, with a focus on producing and guest booking.
- Proficiency in all technical aspects of running a studio, including camera operation, video switcher systems, lighting setup and design, audio mixing consoles, and related equipment.
- Strong proficiency in audio production/DAW software, such as Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or similar audio platforms.
- Strong proficiency in video editing software, such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
- Experience with creating and optimizing content for various social media platforms.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with talent and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in production software, such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or similar.
- Knowledge of podcast platforms, broadcast systems, and distribution channels.
- A creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and media innovation.
- Proficiency in distribution tools and platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and podcast hosting services.
- Knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube) and experience in creating and scheduling content and content strategy.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, in-studio position based at The Aish Studio.
- Occasional remote location filming required.
- May require flexible hours to accommodate production schedules.
