Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Hybrid role with office location in the Old City of Jerusalem
Position Summary: Aish, a not for profit located in the Old City of Jerusalem, with a current annual budget of $25m, is looking to hire a Financial Controller to oversee the financial activities of the organization, for both its Israel and US operations, including accounting, financial reporting and compliance. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:

- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including monitoring accounting transactions and adjustments.

- Reviewing monthly and annual business performance, including the review and monitoring all accounting transactions and adjustments (corrections, accruals, deferrals and provisions) & ensuring appropriate use of these in line with accounting rules.
- Accounting Operations:

- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.

- Review and approve salaries for Israel and the United States.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls.
- Cash Management:
- Oversee cash flow management and forecasting including Preparation of the weekly cash-flow report
- Together with the CFO
- Ensure efficient utilization of cash resources.

- Coordinate and manage external audits.

- Maintain and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls.

- Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting team.

- Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies.

- Work together with FP&A function to enable them to be successful in their role.

- Supporting the Director of Finance of the Educational Institute to manage student payments, scholarships, and review contracts.
- Providing support for contract reporting to government and external agencies, including ad hoc report production.
- Lead the Record to Report Transformation stream together with the Project Consultant.
- Assist in developing and embedding effective finance processes, standards, templates, tools and systems, including process documentation
- Supporting the requests for set-up of client reporting and Master Data Items
- Assist, when necessary, in preparing tuition reconciliations and ad hoc finance requests.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant/or equivalent – preferred but not required
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role and 2 as a Financial Controller.
- Experience of working in a busy team with the ability to work flexibly in response to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Knowledge of Priority preferred but not required
